still be a 1/4 mile away after walking a 1/4 mile toward him?

I had high hopes this morning of playing with my season wrecker, but he nor his running buddy were where they've roosted at least 4 times since the opener.

I don't think the one I've been hearing is him, so I'm going to back out.

I chased the same gobbler 3 mornings, several years ago. He would fly down and go as hard as he could in the other direction. Gobbling everytime you called, till he went out of hearing. The 3rd morning I cut him off and put some #4 in his noggin.

Had a similar situation a few years ago. Bird would roost on public but when he flew down he walked about 100 yds onto private and would gobble his head off. On the 3rd morning I figured him out and setup between him and the private.
