I caught this pitiful drum the other day. BW's got some pics. of these, only slightly larger specimens. Anyway, a buddy was griefing me about the "gaspergoo" I had caught. I figured he was on crack, but it's a real fish name. Anybody else heard of this? Learn something new every day.

In LA, most people refer to them as Gaspagoo. In fact, that's all I ever knew them by until I reached my majority. In some areas of the Bayou State, they are actually fished for on purpose. The ones that size,if you know how to cook them, are pretty good table fare.
