First day is in the books. It was 29 degrees this morning and warmed up to about 38 by afternoon. A little warmer than I expected but looks like that is gonna change tomorrow. It’s suppose to be 20 deg in the morning with temps falling during the day to the low teens with a NW wind. No deer were killed today but there were a few shooters seen. I’m hunting a cut line out of a tripod stand. There is a ground blind with heater approximately 150 yards up the cut that I can get in if I choose. I plan to stick with the stand unless it gets really cold. I saw 4 bucks. Two of them were chasing does and one was trailing a doe. The other just cruising. All appeared to be 2.5 year old bucks with the exception of one that was chasing that I couldn’t get a good look at. He could have been older but I don’t think he was a shooter. So far it’s been a great hunt and the food has been exceptional. Maybe someone will hammer one tomorrow. Here’s a couple of pics of the cut I’m hunting as well as a pic of a 2.5 year old 8 that was trailing a doe.
