[QUOTE="agelessssone, post: 5775442, member: 15891"] A guide friend of mine had a malfunction with his trolling motor today and was going to have to cancel a trip with return customers from Chicago Instead, he called and asked if I was available to take them. My boat was all gassed and geared up so I told him I could and would. Met the guys at Long Hunter, motored to Old Party Cove, not much there. I had concerns about an almost full moon and a north breeze, usually harbingers of bad juju. After not seeing anything worth fishing there, we moved to Smith Springs. Caught a few yellow bass and white bass in 25 FOW but still sparce. I remembered from my last trip that the fish had been running mostly at 30 feet. I headed the boat out to 35 FOW and the fish were there, cruising between 25-30 feet. I noticed the wind had turned from north to south southwest and that usually bodes well for fish activity and had a good feeling about that. We dropped our Binks spoons (1/4 and 3/8 white and chartreuse) to the bottom and started jigging. The fish were acting like they hadn't eaten in a month. Every drop resulted in a fish on or a fish on and lost. We often had two to three guys hooked up simultaneously. It was absolutely a blast. Our final tally was (and all approximately) 60 yellow bass, 30 white bass and 10-15 hybrids. Fantastic day of fishing on Percy Priest lake. If you are looking for a fishing charter, call 615-635-3783, nashvillefishingguides.com. I am a retired Vietnam vet who will do everything (legal) to get you on fish!
