Vanderbilt-NC State College World Series game ruled no-contest due to COVID-19 protocols

The NCAA Division I Baseball Committee has declared the Vanderbilt-NC State Men’s College World Series game scheduled for Saturday, June 26 at 1 p.m. Central time a no-contest because of COVID-19 protocols.

Too bad for them. The shame is that they guys are in the least likely to be hospitalized or die from Covid. But due to 'optics' this is what we get.

This is just another case of "we know best" entering the world of sports. They played yesterday with 8 players on quarantine. They had hoped that they would get 5 of the 8 players back today. At around 1:45AM the NC State coach was notified by the NCAA that hey were being ousted from the tournament and today's game would be considered "No contest" and Vanderbilt would advance to the finals. Then I saw this a few minutes ago and it was too good not to share. (I am not slamming Vandy, this is not thier fault.)

That's nonsense, over 23,000 people unmasked and not required to show proof of vaccination of all ages and levels of health will be in attendance sitting just inches from each other , yet 4 young healthy athletes with no symptoms can't play, so their whole team can't play. The whole team should pack up and go watch the games just to show how dumb the NCAA's ruling is.
