Wondering how the buck activity and ranges shift for you all around this time of year and leading up to bow season. Through early to late July I had pics of a couple nice bucks in the edge of a woodlot leading to a field. I did some scouting and decided to move up the hill from the field and set my stand up where several trails converge into an open patch of woods with 5 or 6 oaks holding good amount of acorns. I expected to atleast see a buck once in the month time that I let my camera sit from August 1 til today. I pulled my card and had doe and fawn pics every day but no bucks literally 100 yards from the previous spot. Judging from scouting once colder weather sets in these trails should be used a lot so I'm not too worried about late October through November, but still expected to see some exciting pics. What have you all experienced as far as getting consistent buck activity. Still a couple weeks away from bucks shifting to different home ranges? When do most bucks shed their velvet? This seems to coincide with bucks shifting patterns from what I've studied. Also this is a brand new property to me so i have no data from previous years to judge Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
