[QUOTE="squattin dogg, post: 773713, member: 1615"] Explosive Devices Found At Archery Range Federal Charges Possible In Case Reported By Catharyn Campbell POSTED: 10:18 am CDT June 9, 2008 UPDATED: 3:55 pm CDT June 9, 2008 HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -- Hendersonville police said they found some explosive devices Monday morning at an archery range near Old Hickory Lake. Related: Images | Video Authorities said they found three devices in gallon containers in the parking lot of Rockland Park in Hendersonville, two of which had been set off. Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and state and local bomb experts are investigating. Officials said the devices were more likely to cause a serious fire than an explosion but that the devices are a concern for investigators. "What we mean by homemade, these are not commercial-made. These are not made by professionals. Somebody got a recipe and went ahead and built three devices out there, and they went ahead and detonated the devices," said Hendersonville Fire Department Capt. Robert Galoppi. It may not be the first time those responsible experimented with explosives, investigators said. The devices are not the work of professionals, investigators said, but it may not be the first time those responsible experimented with explosives. "They are a little more sophisticated than the average just mixing chemicals together," Galoppi said. Authorities said that the building of any sort of explosive device is a major offense and that the person responsible could face felony and federal charges. Officers said they found the devices while performing regular patrols. There are some security cameras in the area, and investigators said they'll be reviewing the footage to see if that can give them any leads. All evidence will be sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and tested for fingerprints and other forensic evidence. "We take this very seriously. We will follow this up and prosecute who ever is caught, whether it's a juvenile of an adult," said Galoppi. Investigators added that they believe the incident may be a homeland security issue because of the vicinity to the dam. Watch Channel 4 News at 5 and 6 for the latest details on this story.
