Hunted this morning and saw 2 does, but little sign of rut. Went back this evening and saw a spike about 4:30, then about 5:45 I was about to climb out of my tree stand and I heard something behind me. I knew it was a buck and a huge body! I got a shot from about 25 yards so I decided to try and drop him in his tracks with a neck shot, mainly since his neck was so big. The 30.06 did the job and he didn't take a step. Kind of sad that half the rack is messed up but I have seen this boy on camera and knew he was a shooter for me because of the unique rack and the body size. I don't know how to judge the age really but would like for some of you guys to take a guess.
