My dad has a 2000 yamaha bear tracker. He had me order a stator for it. He said it had oil in it when he took it apart. But I can't find any info on how much oil should be in it once it's sealed back up.

No. I'd pull the drain plug and drain the rest before filling. Might consider replacing the filter too.
