The 160's are really low resolution and are a very short range thermal. You can see heat signatures at a distance but you won't be able to determine what it actually is until you get close. You also have to remember that each time you hit the zoom button, it cuts the resolution in half. I would not get anything less than a 320 or 384 resolution and a minimum of a 2.5x on the low end because even with a 320 or 384, you won't want to hit the zoom button more than once because they just turn into unrecognizable blobs once you go higher.
