Anyone have some sitting around they would want to sell or trade for? I have bazillions of bullets in 6.5, 7, 308.

The 150g ABs just wouldn't group in my 6.5WSM, and the 140g Bergers that shoot bugholes are too frangible for close shots.

Is that the 150 ABLR's?
I've been told they are very sensitive to seating depth.
Yes, I haven't played with seating depths... got a great node from 62 to 62.5g re 25... getting 10fps ES at 3050fps... but 2 to 2.5in groups. Seated max mag length... dont want a single shot bolt action....

Honestly I'm wondering if the twist rate on this custom gun I bought used 10y ago isn't as fast as the seller said.

So far, NOTHING groups in my 6.5. I am using Mr. Bigs recipe for 140 gr now....haven't got enough done to test I am running pretty slow these days.

Another plus... im thinking I can use Rl22 with the 140s instead of Rl25 that I use for the heavies...

I'm down to a half pound of Rl25, and I have a full 5lb can of Rl22. HARD to find the alliant powders for rifles the past 1.5y

I've got a single lb of RL25 if you need it.
ty for offer! I think I'll be good with RL22 and the 130's. I get great velocity and accuracy from RL22 in my 7WSM with the 140's. I also have a pound of h1000 I havent touched in 15 years.

but jeez, gone are the days of working up a load trying 3 or 4 different powders, varying seating depths, etc, etc, etc in an attempt to eek out the tiniest groups possible.

Now it's ladder test, find the first node you hit, load up three, and if they hit less than an inch, you're good to go hunting.

The last powder/ primer crunch we had was back in 2008 or so (Obama scare). It took powder valley 6 months to fill my order, but I think I stockpiled 25,000 primers and over 100lbs of powder. Of course, prices were about half what they are now, so it wasn't all that terribly expensive.

BIG thanks to @DaveB for getting me a box of the 6.5 ABs

Did some velocity/ pressure testing, found a mild load that hit a node, played with seating depth, and found a load that gave me 1.1in 5 shot group at 200y 5 thousands off the lands. Still had 25 left to load up for next deer season. Only 3175fps, but should still kill a deer :)
