Just testing the waters here. Looks like I'm going to sell my truck. I want to get something smaller like a tacoma.
It's a 2006 f250 4 door lariat 6.0 powerstroke 4x4 156k miles. No issues with the truck at all. Runs and drives great. Tires are toyo open country about 50% tread. 4x4 works perfect. I've had it for 3.5 years. I know the 6.0's have a bad reputation but I guess I've worked all the bugs out of it in the years I've had it. It is egr deleted, 8 new motorcraft injectors, new turbo 6 months ago, new oil cooler. I'm looking for $12,000 title is in hand. Or I would trade for a similar value tacoma or f150, must be 4x4.

That's a deal right there and won't last. I had an 06 that I sold a year and a half ago with 170,000 miles for more than that. I had it bulletproofed and it would run and pull like a scalded dog. Similar trucks were going for $25k. My brother still uses it as his mowing vehicle and has 190,000 on it.

That's a good looking truck at a great price! For that kinda money, it could be bought and bulletproofed and still have less in it than it's worth. BUT, the sad fact is, with a 6.0 Powerstroke, it's not if, it's when. More than enough room on your asking price to be a good buy though. From everything I've heard and read, once bulletproofed, they'll rival a 5.9 Cummins on dependability.

What's the going rate for bulletproofing? I have a 6.4 and thinking of going this route, along with egr delete

I think mine was $3-4k when I did it but saw estimates higher. Included the EGR delete, ARP head studs, and I also put a 5" exhaust from the turbo back. Sounded like a jet engine with a mean sounding whistle. Even my wife misses the sound as my new one is quiet and won't do anything to it until it's out of warranty.

That's a hella deal. I've got a 2006 with 312,000 miles on it and have owned it since new. Only issues have been injectors replaced. Had mine deleted years ago and my diesel guy told me as long as you don't chip it and run the HP up, they will run forever, and he works on tons of diesel trucks.

Exactly! I had a tuner on mine but only used the tow setting after I saw what she'd do one time on performance. 🤣 Had an extreme setting but never ran it.
