44 Magnum load?

Do any of y'all load 44 magnum? In particular, do any of y'all load Accurate #2 for 44 magnum? I have a lot of it for .45ACP is the reason I ask and it's the only pistol powder that I have right now. IF I decide to buy specific powder it will be used in a Ruger Super Blackhawk 4 5/8" barrel, a Ruger 44 Carbine and a Ruger 96 in 44 Mag.

i think i would try to find some 2400 or h110

Across about a dozen 44's 19grs of 2400 and a 240gr bullet has been very accurate.


If you need your shoes untied 24grs h110 and a 240 or 22grs h110 and a 270


Great plinker is 5grs red dot, 700x, bullseye and a 240.

20 grains of Accurate #9 behind 240 grain JHP.

Was looking to use what I have on hand for .45ACP since I have a lot of it. I'll pick up some of the mentioned powders based on availability.

I just sorta happened up on a deal to load 44mag......... New Dillon 3 die set, new Dillon caliber conversion for 44mag, 500 new Winchester brass and 200 Berrys 240gr bullets all for $200.

20gr 2400+240gr XTP = good results on paper and fur.

I load a lot of 44 mag, probably more than anything else.

H 110 is my powder. Wish I could help.

When I bought my .44 Blackhawk Hunter it came with a wheelbarrow full of reloading components. There was several pounds of 2400 so that is what I've reloaded with from the start. Plus that's what Elmer Keith shot so I was happy to try his recipes. I'm pretty cheap so when it starts to run out I'm wanting to try H110.

20 grains of 2400 with a standard primer (not magnum) and a 250 grain Keith bullet is a good one too.

I have REALLY wanted to try some Keith bullets. Do you pour yours or buy them? Is it the Lyman #429421 style?

240 grain jacketed or hard cast gas checked bullet, 22 grains of W296, H110, or 2400. Pretty much the gold standard for a stiff (but safe) 44 mag load.

Well, it seems that 2400 is a mythical unicorn that has not been seen in my neck of the woods in a long time. I have, however, located a supply of H110 and will be picking up a couple of pounds later today. Thanks for all the input.

I've used H110 in mine for years. 200, 240 and 300gr bullets. Never tried anything else...

Had this this drum for several years, it is kept in a environmentally controlled place. I have loaded it in 44 mag, 410 shotgun, 22 Hornet.

Most recommend mag primers with h110. I use Winchester LP primers in mine.


Standard primers will work but h110 may be a bit dirtier with them.

I have several thousand Winchester LP primers so hopefully I'll be good to go when I get the H110. Thank you for the input.

Edited to add that I just checked my primer stash and I have 700 LP Magnum primers with a price sticker of $1.69 per hundred. THOSE were the days! They've been kept in accordance with all powder and primer storage concerns so they should be just fine.
