Get some high viz duct tape , bright blue and hunter orange seem to show up the best. Wrap a piece around your pliers, hammer, stake driver etc.... Makes it easier to find your stuff lying around when you finish making a set, or if you drop something. Lasts longer than paint and is easy to replace.
Started doing this on the job site and my hand tools quit disappearing as well.

Great thread hammer33 and a very good idea on the tape, sometimes we overlook the obvious. Hopefully others will chime in on their "Gear Tips" and we can all learn something. 👍
One thing I heard from several veteran trappers was to have 2 of everything as far as tools go and keep a spare in the truck, especially if it has to be ordered from a trapping supply company.

Can't remember if someone on here or Tman asked the question but they wanted to know how others carry their beaver out, if having to walk some distance. I had an old neoprene duck hauler and figured I'd try it. Pinched one side down with pliers for the front ankle and it worked out great….well kinda. Seeing how the belly is always against you ( yes I tried putting the back against me, not comfortable), you're going to have a strong castor smell on your outer layer. Just an FYI if you're married.😂 I wasn't at the time.
