for $360 yes. Ive used a few tristars over the years and never had issues with them, great customer service and support as well. They are fair quality but overall very reliable.

having said that, I dont know if thats a standard tristar option or a walmart exclusive one. Their Viper series are great options for the cost of them much much better then the raptor models.

They are better known for their over unders but have a pretty good reputation in their semi autos. Id say quality wise about that of stoeger or slightly below.

The few duck hunts ive been on, ive always duck hunted with my 10g.

Fast forward 20 years, and I don't have much desire to carry my 10g because of weight.

Now that my son is getting into duck hunting, I'm thinking ther may be a few times we hunt together... or may not. This shotgun would give me the opportunity to shoot the 3.5s in a much lighter package. I'm not recoil sensitive shooting 10 to 15 shells in a session, although I suspect the 3.5s pack a wallop in a gun this light. Spending 360 plus tax gives me the option of carrying a duck gun with my son (only other shotgun options I have are an 1187 3in and my 10g).

These are absolutely Walmart guns... NOT Walmart returns, but guns made for Walmart that either had cosmetic damage when Walmart unboxed them, Walmart guns the anti gun employees damaged intentionally after unpacking (they have an entire row of wood stocked .22s that there is an identical chip out of the wood at the butt plate on every single gun), or most of them are guns that shipped to Walmart stores that no longer sell guns due to political pressures and were slavaged off...

Basically, any of the guns you could get at Walmart are 30% off Walmart prices.

Tristar raptor 20g... $250.

Charles Daly wood 20g pump $200... etc, etc.

Not doubting what you said but how did you learn of the 'wal mart' gun thing?

No idea how my local feed and seed/ FFL dealer managed to get the contract with Walmart, but he gets about 150 guns per month from Walmart stores that either refuse shipment from manufacturers or receive damaged in shipping guns from manufacturers. That's what he said, and he's an honest guy.

I'm guessing they are buying them at 50% off Walmart retail and selling them at 30% off Walmart retail for a little profit. But they literally get 150 new guns in oer month and cycle thru them almost as fast as they come in

I own that exact gun. What Walmart location? I would buy another one. Especially at that price.
They aren't coming from a specific Walmart... they are coming from Walmarts all over the country.

It's some sort of contract deal he has worked out with corporate Walmart to take guns that local Walmarts refuse to accept for political reasons or guns that were damaged in shipment.

Who is selling?
Where are they selling them?
My local feed and seed store in south Mississippi. To my knowledge, they have the only contract with Walmart nationwide.

Same concept as the salvage stores... just that these are guns that were distributed to Walmarts all over the country, and many of the stores refused to accept them for political reasons, or the employees couldn't figure out how to install the barrel on a semi- auto, or they were cosmetically damaged in shipping, or the Walmart employees intentionally cosmetically damaged them thinking they would not get sold to the general public.

Tristar are good shotguns. Go over to shotgun forum. Guys shooting 1000's rds a yr thru them. Shooting sporting clay. 410 28ga 16 ga and 20ga Tristar. I have a Mossberg SA 410 ga and a 20 ga turkey gun. Made in the same factory. I have a Tristar G2 Viper 28ga. All 3 eats everything u put in them. I have a Mossberg SA 28ga turkey gun on order. I would buy a 12 ga to try one. If i needed a 12ga.
