I should have been more specific. Buck ages are given at what they will be during hunting season. A buck that will be 3 1/2 this fall (hunting season) is actually only 3 now, but he is still called a "3 1/2 year-old buck" now. Strange system, but...If he's 4.5 that would mean he was born around January, right?
Seems like an odd time for a fawn to drop.
