I was sitting off of a logging road doing soft calls on the slate call when I thought to my right I heard something. Sat still for a while and never saw anything. I stood up to go down the logging road farther when I saw the yote come out of a clear cut in front of me about 70 yards. I dropped beside a tree and started doing a dying rabbit squeek on the back of my hand. At first it wasn't loud and the dog was looking around to pin point location. Then I got louder and she came running at me full speed. She stopped a few steps in front of me and got wad of 20 gauge turkey loads to the face. Sounds crazy but it was real satisfying killing this particular one lol. I was glad it was a female also. Saturday and Sunday were the first time I have turkey hunted in 12 years or better and I had a dang good time cant wait for next spring!
This is a pic of how close she was when I shot
