Just curious if anyone has floated the clinch from the wear dam down to the peach orchared boat ramp and how long it took you... I would be specifically talking about when they are not generating....

I've floated it in a kayak a few times...down to the jail. Never really timed it, but I'd say 3-4 hours to the jail depending on how much fishing is involved.

depends on the generation. if the are running a lot of water you can make that drift in about an hour and a half. If there is no generation, you can make that a day drift. We always went from the weir dam to eagles bend in drift boats.

thanks all for the info... I am really wanting to float the clinch and fish... just trying to find someone with a kayak who can go with me... I fished up there last week for about the 2nd or 3rd time and did real well but have only waded... thought floating would be a good way to see more scenery, catch some fish and take some pictures.

Depending on how much you stop for fishing and so forth, about 3 hours. Just my opinion, but if you catch it on a day they don't push till at least 2pm, it's worth fishing all the way down. That's about a 6hr day. FYI if you love to bowfish the Clinch has a ton of carp.

This company does a shuttle service on the Clinch if you want to go solo.
