Looking at getting a box call. Whats a decent call thats user friendly and isn't gonna break the bank. Don't mind spending up to around 75.

I'm not a huge woodhaven fan in general - seems like their prices got too high when they got popular. But I have been using their Real Hen box in cherry for the last few years and really like it.

Exactly.
x3. A bit more than $75 but i have two of'em: ebony over poplar and purpleheart over cedar. I wouldn't trade the ebony/poplar for anything...I've started calling it the Death Hen.

Exactly.

I bought my first custom box call this year and decided on Halloran. I found it used but in new condition on Old Gobbler for around $100. It's a great sounding call.

I also use Halloran's box calls. They are amazing with excellent craftsmanship. One tip a seasoned turkey hunter taught me. Is that a good call should be able to run itself be allowing the paddle to rest with no pressure and slide it with just your finger. It should produce that high and back end Yelp on its own. If it doesn't don't buy it!
