I have owned one for about 15 years.

I haven't used it much but plan to in the future.

Mine doesn't have a gas furnace which would be nice if your going to do any cool weather fishing or hunting.

Mine does have electric heat and air, ice box (I use to store stuff in) sink and two burner gas cook stove.

No shower in mine , I have an outside one for Summer use.

They are great for a single person on a hunting or fishing trip.

But I'm 6'2" and 250 + , old and broke down . LOL

A skinny young couple could manage if they had too.

Some of the newer ones have slide outs which would give you more room , but you can buy a really nice tag along trailer for the same money.

My parents have had 3 over the years. They have a Palomino at the moment. They use it for exactly what you want to do. The last one they had was a bigger hard top one. He has single wheel rear axle trucks so he ended up putting air bags on his 97 chevy to help with the sway/tilt of that much weight being over the truck. That camper had a full bathroom in it so it was heavier than what the first one and the one he has now. Also, he installed a bigger receiver hitch on his truck now. I think its a 2 1/2" due to the extension he has to use to get the tong of the boat out away from the back of the camper but that will all depend on how much overhang you have past the bumper with the camper. Hell, they may even sell theirs, id have to ask them if your interested..
