These two deer have really grown this year and become very intriguing to see what they do every camera pull. This 9 point was a small 8 pt last year that was very active and traveled alot, he got several passes. This Droptine deer is believed to be 4.5 yr old this year and really still showing potential. If he keeps growing then we will want to shoot him. I can only imagine if he makes it this year though. I have had this farm for about 6 years now and it is really giving me alot to be enthused about hunting. Hope you enjoy and would like to know thoughts on these two bucks would you shoot or hope and pass?

As with a lot of bucks, I feel certain they both will really impress you if they slip through the cracks and make it another year. You do what makes you happy, that is really all that matters on your land. Nice bucks, good luck with them, and thanks for sharing.

Whether to shoot or pass on a 4.5 for me would depend on how many opportunities I had at him during the season. If you never saw him in daylight at 3.5 and then saw him once at 4.5, you probably shouldn't pass him. Rarely do bucks live past 6.5 in this area and once they make it to 5.5 they become almost unkillable as they have won the chess game so often. For me any 4.5 year old is a trophy buck. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Tough call. I'd have a hard time passing on either during bow season. They've got excellent potential next year, but who knows if you'll ever see them during daylight again! Good luck! There's no wrong decision either way!

Thanks for all of the input on these 2 deer. I had 4 different chances myself at this droptine deer last year and he was passed 2 other times that I know of. The 9 pt got several passes as well as he was a small 8 pt last year. I will wait and see if the droptine deer grows anymore as I think he will put a few more inches on over the next 2-3 weeks, he still shows signs of growing. Either I think will be an awesome bow kill, however time will tell.

Panoramic Moultrie with Possible shooters. Not as much clarity but a lot of footage in one shot! 30 acre field.
