Length without girth won't add up to much weight. I caught a really long white crappie back in the summer (fish in attached picture) that was 19 inches long but skinny as a rail and didn't even hit 2 lbs. I can't remember the exact weight but seems like it was 1.5 or something like that. But...

Last day of fishing was today. We sat on a 20+ pounder for 2 days and couldn't get it to bite. I did get 2 more 8 pounders though and several 22-24 inch "hammer handles".
