    Food Plots Reclaimed Pasture

@megalomaniac it is not a major income producing endeavor…it is sentimental property that telling my wife about tree income is the only way I get to keep from turning it into a huge lawn to mow… If it were up to me, I’d sell it and buy a condo at the beach.

    Food Plots Reclaimed Pasture

Not sure this is the best place for it but it’s going here for now. I’ve had some cows being run on part of my property for the last 10 years or so. Part of a deal made before moving closer to the property. I had my reasons…the hobby farmers did not take care of the place like I wanted them...

    Dead Deer On the Roads

Drove from Lexington to Cross Plains this past Saturday. I have never seen as many dead deer on 40 as I did then. What gives? Never saw that many even during the rut!

Need sincere advice on CWD management.

Talk about math…according to past TN deer disussions, you have to kill 33% of a deer herd to keep it stable. So if positivity rate overall is higher than that, your herd will shrink eventually due to not being able to populate fast enough. Once CWD gets there like it is in certain areas, you...

Need sincere advice on CWD management.

Just give property owners the tools and ability to manage the herd on their properties the way they see fit. If they want to kill all the deer on their property in a hot zone, let them. If they want to not kill anything for 5 years let them…but make them participate in a data collection...

    The good week continues

In a sense….years spent in college takes away professional development time and shortens the major league career life making it harder to hit the numbers for a hall of famer…time benefit of stats…it also shows how hard it is to make a major league roster, much less be good enough for hall of...

    Knect post game!

I wouldn’t say the best in college basketball, but definitely maybe playing the best of all college basketball right now. I am a Memphis fan at heart so it is innate to not root for any UT team…but, I definitely have a begrudging respect for the men’s basketball team going back to Bruce Pearl...

    Deer Management Assistance Programs

DMAP in MS was a program years ago where private landowners or clubs that met certain requirements of the program were assigned a state biologist and property specific management programs…took off in late 70's and 80's in the big Delta clubs. Provided for more scientific doe harvest programs...
