Post your poult reports over the summer here. If you're not comfortable naming county, just name a general region of the state.

Middle tennessee - I just walked up on two different hens in the same woodlot.

The first one had between 7 and 9 poults, and they could already fly.

The second hen had at least a dozen poults, and they flushed like a covey of quail. All poults big enough to fly. The hens did not fly away, they walked away slowly calling to their young.

Side note, this was on one of the WMAs supposedly "ruined" by hunting pressure. Another good hatch it looks like. My garden doesn't like this hot dry weather, but it's great for poults. Hopefully the later opener next year will help the areas that are actually hurting.

McMinn County, saw a hen with 9 poults June 5th or 6th. Could not fly but saw them again two days later and each took off like a slow moving drone one after the other. Since then have seen multiple other hens by themselves, the latest about twenty minutes ago.

6/13 Roane county 2 hens with little ones. Mowed over a nest of eggs, busted 2 with no visible chick. I'm not sure if it was a second nest or they were not fertile. 6/10 heard 2 gobblers gobble at least 100x in the afternoon.

I saw my first group today. At least 6 and they were pretty good size already. I have 3 hens hanging around, and have not seen poults with them. I usually have 20+ poults this time of year.

I never see poults, but I'm rarely in a location where I would.

BUT, my daughter yelled at me to look out the front window a few minutes ago. A hen with 8 poults about 6-8 inches tall walked down our neighborhood road.

They went into the woodlot across from my house caddy corner.

Not sure where she planned to spend the night with them, but very cool to see. They did not appear big enough to fly.

On the plateau.

Hamilton County. We had a hen pop up in the yard on one of my Ring cameras about 6 weeks ago. The little ones were so small that you could barely see them. Now, there are 4 poults and they are getting up in size. Looks like the cracked corn is working!

Haven't seen one yet maury or marshall County. Haven't been to our place in Hickman County in 2 or 3 weeks. Have cut roughly 4 or 500 acres of hay and Haven't even came across a nest. (Not uncommon we don't have hardly any turkeys where we farm) Haven't had any to speak of in 4 or 5 years if not more.

Cracked corn is low protein. Those poults need bugs more than anything to grow, corn is just like candy
