Considered my 700 varmint stainless fluted in 308, but probably gonna stick with the one I used Wednesday morning. Custom I built, 6.5 cm ballistic advantage 20 inch stainless fluted barrel, aero precision upper and rail, and a mix of other parts i put together. Nikon monarch 3 scope on it. Handloads 143 grain eldx over 42 grains imr4350, hornady brass, and Remington large rifle primers.

My Dad passed last year and recently when cleaning my guns I pulled out by Marlin 30-30. This was the first rifle that I owned and this was a present from my Dad. I guess I have had that gun for 40 years, killed a lot of deer with that gun but have not hunted with it in years. I think I am going with that for my spot in the morning, it is a thick area next to a powerline with max shooting of a 100 yards. I hope to kill one last buck with that gun and hopefully pass it along it my nephew.
