It is all over the ground but seems to die after mowing short and sun light gets to it.

I've started spraying the crap out of it in the last month or so in a heavily wooded area (20 year growth). Seems like it just appeared and then took over in a few years. I really hate that spraying is killing a lot of natives as well.
 
I've really nerded out on all this stuff after snagging 60 acres of what I'd consider some of the best hunting in Hamilton County. I know it's not a huge piece but I've dreamed of hunting this place since I was a kid. In few months I'll be 41 and it's a became a dream come true.

Congrats on your own dirt! 60acres is plenty big enough to score you a great buck every season. A little well thought out habitat work can go a long way.
