Miscalculated and bought too many seed potatoes. Is there any way to store them and put out for fall? New ones would be good with back strap.

I doubt you could keep them good that long. I always heard to save some small potatoes from the spring crop for fall planting. I got a question, at what point do you start pulling the soil around your potato plants?

I am going to wrap a few in paper, put them in an open crate and stick them under the house where its dark and cool. Hoping to hold them till fall lke you said.

I used to hill to my potatoes after they reaches 6 inches then again in a couple weeks. I now plant in grow bags in a soft blend of mediums placing seed on about 4 inches of soil then adding soil to fill the 16 inch bag. Takes them a while to come thru but they do very well.
