Last fish of the day I hooked into a a beast of a blue cat on light tackle and 10 lb test it was a 20 minute plus battle. I won

We caught several good cat large mouth and small mouth bass

Just curious what you caught the blue cat on? Looks like you're by the power plant on the first picture but below the dam as well. Did you lock through?

You are correct on all counts - Nuke Plant, upstream of Chick Dam and downstream of Chick Dam. Capt. Sam Simons ain't afraid to make BIG moves when conditions warrant. But no, we rarely lock through. We routinely put the boat on the trailer just upstream of the dam and then relaunch immediately below the dam. Can be done easily in 10-15 minutes, and often clients like to make a run to a nearby fast food joint during the transition. Regardless, it's much less time and hassle than trying to lock through (and then have to lock back through when you're done).

Unless you've done it, most folks have no idea how much skill it takes to land a trophy blue cat on light tackle. Kudos to you Lade on an outstanding catch!

Sir Richard taught Capt Sam everything known by Sir Richard Simms,
about catfish.
Capt Sam then learned a little on his own beyond that.
So now, Capt Sam is the Man!
