So my wife surprised me with a blank check and told me to buy a new bow and that would be my Father's Day gift. I went to out to Benton Shooter and shot the v3x 33 and was in awe. I was shooting a 2010/11 high country x-10 so any of the new Bows of todays standards would be a big step up.
I followed it up by going to harvest archery where I shot the hoyt ventum pro 33, bowtec sr350 and x80, then Finally the elite Enkore. While all very nice it came down to the x80 (backed off to 73ish lbs) and ventum pro in which I ended up purchasing the ventum as the draw cycle was just that much smoother.
The Hoyt it pulling right at 70lbs pushing a 465g arrow 285fps with a 14.5 FOC. Couldn't be happier with the results. While up there they gave me some pointers on anchor points and form so I have been working through that while establishing my site tape and have been shooting 60+ arrows a day for the last 4 days. Nothing like new equipment to light the archery fire under you again.
