Been a while since I went after hogs. Went a couple nights last week. It was pretty slow. Saw 2 single boars the first night and shot 1 and saw 1 single boar second night and couldn't get a shot.
This one came from down the road in Monterey. I know they used to be on Chimney Top and Fodderstack but I haven't heard much about them in last few years. I'm sure there's still some around. I've seen sign on Bays Mtn and seen hogs on Holston Mtn.are you hunting locally, Smoke, or taking a ride ? i hear rumors about hogs here near town (down Horton Highway), but have never seen any.
some dimwit set out some pot-bellied pigs along South Holston Lake there a few years back. i don't think they lasted very long... bears and 'yotes ate well that year.and seen hogs on Holston Mtn.
These weren't pot bellies. Probably close to 20 years ago I saw a decent group. Last sign I saw was a few years back out the top. They had it tore all to pieces. I've asked the bear hunters about them several times but none will talk about them.some dimwit set out some pot-bellied pigs along South Holston Lake there a few years back. i don't think they lasted very long... bears and 'yotes ate well that year.
that's odd. you KNOW their dogs prob run them... dog's will chase about anything that runs.I've asked the bear hunters about them several times but none will talk about them.
I know their dogs have to bay them up time to time. One guy did tell me they'd caught a couple. Just figured they didn't want anyone knowing they're in there.that's odd. you KNOW their dogs prob run them... dog's will chase about anything that runs.
