Put some 7 dust on them
Usually I end up with some yellow bug on mine, but not this early. I agree with the 7 dust.

Sevin dust and more than just your plants. Hit the ground around them too. As your garden grows look under tender new leaves for eggs. If it's slugs get some slug killer
leaf beetles, look like lady bugs except they aint. i always use neem oil and pyretherin first then sevin liquid if that doesnt work well enough.

When buying sevin notice the label!
They sell it in different strengths / blends. There are labeled "kills over 150" , "kills over 500" , "kills 1000" types of insects. any of these will kill bean beetles but only the strongest will take down the dreaded squash bugs!

Yep, and you should find some dead PDQ.
If you had some malathion that would be helpful and you are far out of harvest time.

Malathion works but that is the stinkiest spray of all. I don't think methyl, bolstar or orthene can rival it

Think sevin is no longer carbaryl. If you can find real sevin dust with carbaryl, that would work, I usually spray liquid sevin(carbaryl) on plants. I don't know anything about this new sevin chemical or how effective it is.
I have heard and read some people swear by dawn dish soap as an effective alternative but never tried it.

i posted on that subject when they first changed it. i was worried it wouldnt be as good. ive used it since then and dont have any problems, it still kills jap beetles and i use neem and soap for the aphids. i mainly use it on my peach trees and it works about as well as the carbaryl formulation and it has a lower phi.

Yep, a bit potent in the odor arena but one of the fastest killing insecticides I have ever used.
And yes, i know, it is non-selective, kills worms, birds eat the worms as the worms are thrashing in their death throes and sure enough it will kill the bird.
In Miami it killed mosquitos, earwigs, cinch bugs, and palmetto bugs and there weren't very many worms in that sand. I took very good care of my final container of Malathion.
