I went to all but one of the F1 car races in Indy before they lost the franchise. Looks like Austin, TX will host the US Grand Prix F1 races starting in 2012. These cars are amazing to see in person, seem to defy physics. They weigh less than 1400 lbs including driver, all fluids, fuel, and equipment and have about 750 hp. Were running over 1000 hp in the 90's, but they reduced the engine size to 2.4 liter. The carbon brakes slow them down so quick it doesn't seem real. Can't wait for Austin...I hear they have beer and BBQ out in that area.
