The board showed 3 checked in as of 11:55am. I heard a couple of toms going nuts at daybreak, then silence. Had 3 hens feeding withing 30yards of me for a couple of hours. Thought the live bait might help, but I guess not...

There us to be a boat load of birds there, haven't hunted any deer since they stopped the bonus buck hunts. been dove hunting a time or 2 but even that's been several years

With the heavy clear cutting and stopage of farming practices there isnt 1/4 of the birds there compared to twenty years ago

We squirrel hunted there back in September and there was actual corn and soybean in some of the fields. I was kinda shocked! You are correct, the bird and deer populations has definitely declined.
