My buddy has an oak tree, of some kind, that the deer are feeding heavily on.
He said the acorns look just like white oaks but they are 2 or 3 times the "normal" size.
He is supposed to bring one to work today.
Is there an oak in SW KY that this sounds like besides a white ?

not sure swamp chestnut oaks grow that far north, but they have huge acorns and deer will hit them even over whites. They grow down here along creek bottoms that flood.

If it is in a relatively low-lying area, I'll bet it's a swamp chestnut oak as others have mentioned.
