I'm very fortunate to be able to hunt this piece of land for the last four years. So far I'm 100% success rate here on elk and mule deer. Bull elk is over the counter and mule deer is draw
Elk were few and far between this year and we really had to hunt hard for them. Took my nephews along this year and they were both able to kill their first elk
The evening before season opened these elk bedded down 300 yards from my bedroom window
Saw only small mule deer opening day. Second morning youngest nephew took this bull at 40 yards
I killed this small bull that evening, and since we were seeing zero sign I wasn't going to pass. 360 yard shot
Two more days of hunting and nothing seen except small mule deer bucks and does. I saw this guy three times over a day and finally decided to take him. I sure wish he had his other side not broken off
Finally the last day my other nephew got this small bull, and The joy he expressed made the entire trip worthwhile
