Twelve members of the Jefferson Co 4-H Patriot Shooters got a chance to go quail hunting today. Jeff Cagle owner of Mountain View Quail provided birds for the hunt. For breakfast the hunters had sausage, eggs, potatoes, gravy, and biscuits. Lunch consisted of bear, pork loin, smoked bologna, deer, duck, baked beans, and potatoes. Jeff set up 2 courses and the hunters worked in pairs with a dog and handler. Between flights the non hunters shoot clays. At the end of the day the twelve killed 31 birds. Pickle has pictures of the event.

There was a lot of smiles, and not just from the kids.

What a great event for you to be a part.
THIS is the kind activity that most helps develop lifetime hunting sportsmen!

Do you have many wild birds in the area around where you were doing this?
