Just stated watching this years shows.. One thing I cant figure out.. last year everyone risked life and limb the gather enough firewood from the river to make it through the winter.. all I heard was how dangerous it was to stand in a boat and run a saw.. then when they finally get it back to town there are trees everywhere in the back ground.. heck they even cut several large trees when they moved that house with the army bulldozer.. why.. dont they just out in the woods and cut firewood.. I mean.. they are 150 miles from the nearest city..??

They cut a ton of wood. They also girdle trees to make them die so they have seasoned wood for cutting. But if they don't cut enough and run out, they cannot cut frozen trees to burn.

Of course, that does not answer your question. The real answer is, they needed some drama for a show.

However, about one of every three shows is actually pretty good. For sure, they are some tough, hardy sumbucks.

Yep, one of the better shows imo. Can't compete with swamp people though!

I like it because they arent afraid to show kill shots and hunters cutting a moosrs throat. Won't see that on other tv shows

Why cant they cut frozen trees to burn? people cut frozen trees for lumber all winter long up north..
