They really had no choice but to jump in the water. That could have ended with severe injuries and death. I'm glad the fisherman were watching. You noticed there was no hesitation of going in the water.

The 3 fishermen are lucky to be alive. No one should be driving a boat, car or anything else if they cannot see over the dash or care not to see where they are driving. Folks, there are crazy people everywhere. Be careful on the water or in the woods. Keep your head on a swivel.

It was reported that the driver of the boat was on his cell phone at the time of the crash.

Yep and the guy he hit is sueing him for $300,000.00 +

A very expensive phone call!!

I bet the dude don't do it again either.
He is lucky he isn't going to jail for vehicular manslaughter or something.

I saw that video yesterday. Amazing they got out of the boat in time. I can't believe the guy didn't get charged for operating a boat in a reckless manner or something! Don't know how a jury wouldn't side with the victims in trial with that video evidence.

After thinking about that, if that happened to me I would probably be in prison for the rest of my life. I would have come unglued after getting out of the water and I would have taken my wrath out on the guy with whatever was handy to club the fool out of him.

Seems like the guys in the small boat likely had time to startnthe motor and gas it..
If they immediately started and hammered it yes.
After 3 seconds it was too late.
Plus they shouldn't have had to.

Maybe they could get out of the way but they were likely anchored. If they hammered down and the anchor hung, that boat would have dove like a crank bait.

What if the big boat veered off as they fired up, and they turned into the path of it? They did what they were legally and logically obliged to.

Am I the only one amazed at how little damage the boat suffered after being used as a ramp?
