Workout question

I started my workouts again yesterday after being a lazy slob for a while. I am a bit sore today. Do I do the workout again or stretches and maybe some yoga instead? I don't want to cause any damage and self destruct just when I got mad enough at myself to get off my butt. :)

Thanks. I messed myself up back in Sept by pushing too hard and thinking I would be fine to fight thru the pain. I was more than sore but ignored it. This time I want to be smarter. Maybe I will just go jump rope. :)

Good for you strut!

Depends on the kind of workout you are doing. If you are just doing cardio, then stretch good and do a little warm-up and go for it. If you are lifting weights, then you may want to skip a day between workouts. Or you can alternate your workouts between upper body and lower body. I'm sure you will get plenty of opinions, but I've never heard any of the gurus recommend doing the same muscle groups on consecutive days if you are weight training.

Always do 5-7 minutes of stretches and warm ups before you workut then the same amount of stretches and warm ups following. It will help with the soreness + lessen the chance of injury

I would prefer to be able to get toned by just watching a workout tape but that hasn't worked so far. :) Thanks for the help guys. I do appreciate it.
