Working with women........ Advice?!

Sorry to the few good ones out there. But why in the world is gossip, lie telling, hatefulness, and backstabbing so common?!?

I just started working and my goodness there are some good nurses I work with but those few make the place almost miserable. Even telling the patients lies just to cause problems and make themselves look better.

I've prayed about this and everything and finally went to the supervisor after finding out more rumors that had been started. I was honestly just looking for feedback about my performance but she dragged out of me who the issues were coming from and she said it would be dealt with and the person was already on the radar.

If my work environment wasn't stressful I'd be able to laugh this off and would probably try my best to aggravate her...

Any Advice?

Some women openly display this hatred and some hide it well. My wife is a nurse and the unit she works on it staffed by females and the amount of drama she talks about is the equivalent to High School girls. There is always someone that is upset at someone else even over stupid stuff like "she sat in my chair".

I have worked in an office for the past four years with 3 women and what I have learned is they are always cold even if it is 100 degrees outside. They complain about their husbands all the time and can talk for hours about nothing. Since starting I have invested in a good radio and have become an expert at tuning people out.

I've never understood why the nursing profession is so catty. Some of the most ruthless workplace feuds I've ever heard of were from hospital floor nurses.

If I were you, I'd pretend not to speak English, and just ignore every last one of them.

Its not just women.. There are 3 or 4 guys i work with but luckily there on different shifts that cry and gossip like lil babies.

All women are batS*** crazy. Finding one with a compatible dysfunction is called Love. Marry that ONE.

Men and women handle conflict and dominance differently.

If two guys have a problem,they just come to an understanding, mano-a-mano. They rarely involve more people.

When women disagree they solicit like minded women to help them rid the group of the offender. The other woman involved solicits a similar group to achieve the same goal.

So as typical male, depending on the physical attributes of the women involved,I just set back and wait for the cat fight. Secretly hoping they rip each others tops off and then kiss each other.

See that is exactly my point. Deep down when the opportunity arises it comes out, suddenly they're not BFF's anymore.

Since no one else has said it, I'll say it: Any creature that bleeds for a week and doesn't die HAS to be evil/crazy.

(disclaimer: there are exceptions, but it's just a general thought)

That cattiness isn't limited to hospitals. I worked in an office with 3 men and 1 woman. We all got along great. Even that woman said she'd rather work with guys than girls. Eventually, I got reassigned to an office with all women. Talk about drama queens! And gossipping! It was tough to adjust to after being in a decent office. The one girl I shared an office with also got moved to another office--with all women. She hated it!

Establish your male role immediately. Something like "AHEM...ladies, no talking. There's a man in the room. He will let you know when to talk when he speaks to you".

That's actually not a bad idea. The women need a common force to hate instead of other women; you could be that force. Step up, be a bigot, and take one for the team. Your company thanks you.

Best thing you can do is convince all the gals you work with that you are a flaming queer. ALL women just love queer guys. They will never try to get you fired or in trouble.
