Anybody else have a computer with this nightmare operating system? I just got a new laptop and I'd like to shove it up Bill Gates' rear end.

Somehow, scrolling around with the mouse toggles me between apps and recently downloaded documents and it is an aggravating road back to where I was.

I hate it. Just sayin.

I quit using windows at vista, once I switched to mac, never wanted to go back. Always hated windows and its many "features" aka bugs and errors. Drove me nuts when I was younger.

Best thing to do with win 8 is delete it and load win7.

I bought a new laptop a few weeks ago too. I hate windows 8, and I asked about buying windows 7 to load and they no longer sell it. Microsoft pulled all of them when 8 came out. You will not find a windows 7 operating system on any shelf. I guess you could get a burner copy online somewhere but it is illegal and it would be a good bet you would get a virus imbedded in it.

I haven't heard of anyone liking the new software. Hope my 7 machine holds out for a long time. May have to go with a mac when it does go out.

My mom has it and somehow thinks I can help her with it. I was on it the other day and couldn't even find the shutdown button.

It's just horrible.

This is the same thing people thought about 7 and every other new windows and with the exception of vista I seem to eventually like the new one once I learn it. Yes apple is easier because you give up power and versatility. I am yet to see it yet but love 7 now but we will see

I found a option "what to do when you push the power button" I selected shutdown.

I am glad I'm not the only one frustrated with this junk system.

Seriously, this switching between screens and stuff is ridiculous and makes no sense whatsoever. None of the paperwork that came with this POS is explanatory either. I have managed to figure out how to get myself to the desktop function, but scrolling around throws me off of it pretty often.

Watch out though. Most computers that come with Windows 8 the BIOS and HDD is locked to Windows 8.
If you edit the stock OS it can void warranties.
I'm an IT tech and I deal with Microsoft it's self A LOT hardly any employee at microsoft likes 8 either.
I can't stand it myself.
A lot of Win 8 comps you have to get certain HDD to be compatible with the BIOS.
Watch wiping your HDD and downgrading (upgrading to me) Windows 7.

This agrees completely with what I was told at Best Buy by "The Geek Squad" when I went to them asking if they could change my new computer from Windows 8 back to Windows 7. They said they had tried it on 4 so far and basically ended up with a non-functioning computer. They refused to take the job.
