The dime thread got me thinking.

I have around 1500 wb pennies of various values from $2-$12. Does anyone know if coin shops/collectors are paying even close to value these days?

I come across one every now and then. They are neat, but I spend them like any other penny.

So, are you saying that any wb penny is worth at least $2?

I'm not really sure. I look at sites on line that give values of individual pennies that are anywhere from .05 to $500 for really rare ones.

However, there was a time I collected football cards and just because a price guide said my Marshall Faulk rookie card was worth $95 didn't mean squat. Sooooo, I'm skeptical of these sites telling me my pennies are worth more than a few dimes apiece.

There are a few books out there that can tell you current values. Without pictures and knowing more info it's hard to place a value.
My grandfather was a long time collector. We sat down for hours talking about coins and searching for rare coins.
You might be surprised in what you might find value wise.

He used to buy bulk coins in 3000-4000 bulks and get coins worth $10.00-$25,000.00
The updated books help alot and can keep you from selling a $500.00 coin for $10.00
