Lots of rumors swirling around not too many concrete answers. Reading between the lines The general consensuses is he is unhappy with the treatment he is getting at Green Bay and not being treated with the respect he has earned. Then again there is the old saying you are only as good as your last game. So there is that.

He needs to realize he has to go out there and prove himself day in and day out to keep at the top of his game and earn his spot. Not have it handed to him on a silver platter.

He was not happy with what the coaching/front office is doing and let it be known wanted to get traded last year to them. They supposedly said the were going to and then changed there mind. He has made it clear he is not likely playing with them next year. Would not be the first QB to sit out a year, I am a Vikings fan so will be happy to see him leave as I think he still has some fight in him and would not want him playing against us.

It's getting ugly.

13 years as the the Packers starter, his pushing 38 years old with only 1 Superbowl appearance.

He seen Payton leave the colts after all those years and win a Superbowl, he just seen tom do the same with the bucs.

I think he has the same plain in mind.

Green Bay and QB's just don't part on friendly ways much more. I think a guy that has given you what he has deserves a little more then what they have done. They could have gotten a lot for him at the draft and left on good terms.

Listen to this guy. He has more info on the nfl than the nfl does.

That Rodgers is upset for the Packers trading up to draft a 1st round QB last year is some kind of excuse.
The QB hasn't played a down or taken a snap in an exhibition game,, and wasn't activated to be the back up for any game in all of 2020.
He may be a total bust, yet Rodgers feels threatened enough to want use that as leverage.

Since being drafted in 2005 the only skill position offensive player the packers drafted in the first round is....... a QB last year. That was the start. I don't think it was they drafted a QB But that they have never once put drafting a too WR, RB or TE to put around him.

Rodgers reported to training camp and aired out his list of grievances in a 33 minutes press conference.
The bottom line is that he's back with the Packers for this year, and he forced the Packers to trade a 6th round draft pick to get ex-Packer receiver Randall Cobb back on the team.
The Packers didn't even have enough cap space for Cobb, so Houston is paying $3 million of his salary.
Rodgers antics also caused the Packers to sign a bunch of quarterbacks in case he didn't show up which also used up their cap space.
When teams pay the big stars too much money they don't have enough cap space left to have other good players on the team.
The NFL cap isn't going up a whole lot until 2023 when the new TV deal money kicks in.

The NFL reports that the Packers negated the 2023 year from Rodger's contract allowing him to become a free agent one year sooner,
The Packers also converted some of his salary into a signing bonus to open up $10 million in cap space.

Sounds like the same situation Favre was in when they drafted Rodgers. (nearly same age as well) A team can't wait on an older player to decide how long they are going to play. They have to draft a QB and get them use to the offense in practice. They may carry a clipboard and kneel down to run out a clock for a season or two but eventually they will get to play. Just like Rodgers did.
