What would happen

Not that I would ever try it dispite some of my fudge ups in reloading (IE the mixing powder incident).. but what would happen if you put 50 or so grains of black powder in a cartridge instead of smokeless?

It would fire fine...The first 45-70 cartridges were black powder.
