No one was hurt... amkes you wonder if it was suicide by cop. If he was a Lance Corpl I am sure he could of hit someone if he wanted too.

It happens.. I dont know what he saw as a marine but after talking with my 29 yr old nephew following 3 tours, I can see where aggression could be an issue and regardless of whether or not there are guns, people will still go off the deep end and take people with them which is easy to accomplish with a knife, automobile, etc, etc, etc

Sako, That is kind of what I was wandering as well.

And Kimber, I know what you mean. I've got several friends serving overseas right now. I would be right there with them, but I was ruled physicaly inable, I hurt my back playing football. And they have all seen some pretty messed up things over seas.

As a retired law enforcement officer who is privileged to have a host of Marine friends, several of whom are also law enforcement officers, I find stories like this particularly troubling and tragic.

As a former combat marine who has been diagnosed with PTSD I can say that I have never once thought to go and shoot at people. I have also talked with my friends about such things and not a one of them would even think to harm innocent people. I get that PTSD can lead suicidal tendencies but why not just turn the gun on himself rather than die by cop? It just doesnt make sense to me.

It is a sad thing, this is where I feel our service members should not have to continuously return to fight for as long as they have and as many times as they have without having some type of help between or something anyway. Thankfully my brother served 25 years and is home and safe but doesnt talk about what he went through

I agree and so would my nephew but the problem is, everyone is different so as we send these young folks who already have a few screws out of adjustment out to see "war" I expect there will be random situations like this from time to time......and again, nothing to do with the dreaded "firearm" as an automobile or anything else could have served as an even more deadly weapon.
