This is a question I have been asking myself for several weeks.
I mean if you could put a dollar amount on it?

I have had this issue facing me for the last few weeks.

I have a dear friend that owes me a substantial amount of money for work I have done for him and thru no fault of his own things have turned south for him in several random acts that I know was beyond his control. Now I love this guy dearly and we have been friends for almost 20 years. One of my best friends.

Tonight I had a conversation with him and wiped the slate clean.
I feel a ton better and I hope he does as well.

So I ask what is friendship worth?

Money is such a materialistic item. I mean yeah I would love to have a bunch of it and especially right now considering I was down to little the last few days!! lol

To put some perspective on it. The actual amount I wrote off today to help my friend was

$20,000

Yes i said twenty thousand dollars.

Yes he is still one of my best friend and I think if it had been 100k. I would have felt the same.

I hope it never comes up again and I pray it gives us both restful peace in our relationship.

Just thought I would share.

You are one heck of a Man Big J. I want to type many things to say you are and I just can't put it all down. While I don't think I could do what you did...I do think it would give me great peace and tranquility. Awesome!

I couldn't put a price on a true friendship, and he is one lucky guy to have you for a friend. A true friend is willing to help someone without expecting something in return. But, if I were that friend, I would find some way to repay your kindness when I got back on my feet.

Priceless

He who has a friend has a great thing indeed. Why hold someone (especially a friend) in bondage for something you know they can not repay. You showed great wisdom in your action BigJ.

I hope your friend has enough wisdom to accept your amazing gift and say thank you!

Freindship is priceless, hard to put a price on it as well as many things, its like your relationship to your wife or husband, can you put a price on that (as long as you are together) price on your kids??
I cant and wont. You give all you can in many ways, hopes are that somehow that your giving will be returned to you in some way.
I would hope this friend can see what you have done and return this to you in some way, money, help or what ever.
I know I have given many times and many times the only thing I have received in return was knowing I had the heart to do it. I know I borrowed money in order to help someone out with the promise to pay me back when they could, its been 12 years now and I have paid the load off myself and never asked for repayment, I felt at the time I wouldnt get it back but did it anyway. I dont think I would do it like that again, but who knows.

Wow, that is amazing. God Bless You and Your Family. If you are faithful over a little thing I will make you master of great things.

I don't have any friends that I put much faith in. 1 that I would help out somewhat. My parents are mainly who I can count on.

My Grandfather told me long ago that I would be lucky to have 2 friends my whole life, thought he was crazy. But he was right. In todays world IMO " friend " is an overly used word. We have lots of buddys, but very few TRUE friends. I have been blessed to have a handful, that would drop everything and come help me out, anytime of day,or night, as I would do for them.
