What we have here is a early model ( 1978-1979)Weatherby Mark V Custom. It comes with a Leupold Vari X2 3-9 scope. It's a very clean rifle. It's chambered in 300 Weatherby. Ammo is very easy to get. This is a factory custom shop rifle. $1700 will also consider trades. Rifle will grade 95-96%

It's a 24 inch barrel and best I can tell on one of the forums they say the 24 is considered a No 1 and the 26 is a No 2. It's not a pencil barrel though.
Sounds like it is what Weatherby has long referred to as their #1 Contour barrel.

Man, you always have some nice weapons.
When I began seriously hunting big-game,
the Weatherby Mark V was considered the Gold Standard
of serious big-game hunters.

At the time, it was the most heavily loaded .30 caliber rifle available,
and many people saw the .300 Weatherby as the single one gun that could actually work for hunting any big game in the world.

About the only complaint I've ever heard has been,
"Man! That gun is too pretty to hunt with!"
