So I bought my first vortex scope a while back and tried to zero it the other day.
Fiasco is an understatement.
I have been mounting and zeroing scopes for over 40 years.
Not bragging but I know what I am doing.
Got it out earlier since I have calmed down.
Old school bore sighted it.
For you youngsters that is when you remove the bolt, stabilize the rifle and put your barrel where it lines up with the target.
Then you move the crosshairs till they are "on paper".
In the process of doing this I figured out the adjustments are backwards.
To move the poi left you have to turn it right. To go up you turn it down and visa versa.
Have I been out of the game so long everything has changed or is it jacked up ?

I've noticed, on my little experience, it depends on the scope. Yesterday I zero 2 scopes. Tried the shot then count the clicks method. Ended up leaving the gun in the vise, looking through the scope without touching the rifle and moving the crosshairs to the hole. Got the second one done in 4 shots

I know you prob know this but don't let anything touch the barrel of your gun while shooting.
