........According to Whitetail Institute!
Teddy Roosevelt, Aldo Leopold, and the big finish Ray Scott?
I have defended WI in the past as they dont have a bad product and they take out the guess work for a lot of hunters, but this is arrogance. Thats right Ray Scott is in the top three of all innovations in the hunting industry not Saxton Pope or Art Young not John Muir or any of the transcendentalists but Ray freakin' Scott.
Man.

You are aware that Ray Scott is not only the founder of BASS but also the founder of Whitetail Institute, aren't ya? Makes sense that his own organization would recognize him.

If they want to recognize him, fine. But don't compare him to Teddy Roosevelt. I knew Teddy Roosevelt. Teddy Roosevelt was a friend of mine. Ray Scott is no Teddy Roosevelt.

Yeah, I don't know enough about what Scott did or didn't do for hunting to have an opinion. No matter what he's done (and I admit I don't know), it's probably a strech to compare him to Leopold and Roosevelt. Fishing may be different. I was just saying that it isn't surprising for the organization that he founded to recognize him as a big dawg. Seems to be the way the world goes round.

Different subject - I met him at an outdoor writer's association deal a couple years ago. He sat down with me and chatted several times, and I'm nobody to him. The guy could sell ice to an eskimo. I know this because he made me feel like we were old friends, just like he did everybody else there.

That reminds me of their food plot seed ad that claimed Imperial Whitetail Clover was responsible for the increase in B&C bucks being killed nation-wide over the last few decades. Talk about ludicrous claims...

He should be recognized and as I stated I respect what his organization does. But they seem to think they invented food plots. Food plots were around long before seed was sold with a picture of a deer on the bag.
I would feel more comfortable comparing Ray Scott with Bill Jirdan or Toxey Haas than the men responsible for saving our sport.

I think he has done alot for his pocket book!
and somewhere in there the sport of deer hunting benefited from that. Sounds like the american way of enterprise to me.
