Killed a buck in October, deer meat sounded good for dinner so I put a roast(just under 3lbs) in the crockpot before I left for duck hunting yesterday morning with taters and carrots. It turned out great.

Best venison I ever had was from a deer taken in upstate NY. Roast was marinated in white wine for three days and slow (I said slow) roasted. So tender you could cut it with the teaspoon handle!

In a river hopefully!
So how long in a crock pot? All day ~ 8 hours? And how long for the veggies? Thanks.

I got a beef roast in right now in a Dutch oven.

This most definitley wasn't dry. We seared it in cast iron then added a little beef broth(not too much) in there which Ive never done and I'm sure some wouldn't do but I thought it was good. We cooked it on low for about 8 hours. Probably the best I've had.
